The Fasting 101 Course is designed to give the general public a wide understanding of fasting. We hope to answer some basic concerns/questions that I’ve encountered about fasting. It is safe. It is recommended. It is commonly prescribed when patients are ill or admitted to hospital. Patients and doctors don’t talk about fasting enough together.
We hope this course feels like a medical discussion categorized by organ system:
- Endocrine System and Metabolism
- GastroIntestinal System
- Cardiovascular and Renal Systems
- Hematology, Oncology, and Infectious Disease
- Rheumatology, MusculoSkeletal System, and Neuro/Psychiatry
- Social and Cultural Challenges
- How can I start Fasting?
There are 7 chapters.
Each chapter is ‘more or less’ 45 minutes.
Each chapter is divided into 3 sections:
- General anatomy/physiology
- Published studies and research
- Case examples

“So many conditions like diabetes type 2, inflammatory illnesses like gout/rheumatoid arthritis, and mental health can improve with lifestyle changes. Everyone should employ some kind of fasting routine into their lifestyle. But there’s a lack of support for fasting in the medical field. We are trained to run tests, identify and categorize illnesses and then prescribe medications. We can order many tests and medications, but have little training in lifestyle, diet, and exercise. Teaching and working with patients are essential. Patients need to know what to do with their illness. How to check it, what to change in their life, and how to know if it's mild/moderate/or severe. Healthcare in the USA is complex. Physicians should take an active role in discussion with patients on how to improve their health. This is why I decided to make the Fasting 101 course and certification.”
